Laura Varn has more than 20 plus years of successful leadership experience in Human Resources, Corporate Communications and Community involvement.
She is currently the Vice President of People & Culture and Communications for Parkland USA, where she leads all HR and communications strategies for the United States. Parkland USA is a subsidiary of Parkland, a $10 Billion global energy company operating in 25 countries and one of America’s fastest growing independent marketers of fuel and petroleum products and leading convenience store operator. She has helped 10 x the business in the last three years, growing the employee base from 300 to more than 3000, while shaping the culture, processes and systems to grow organically and through acquisitions.
Previously, she served as an executive for South Carolina’s largest electric utility, and also served in leadership roles with Delta Air Lines and Southern Company. She served as spokesperson for the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games in Atlanta with MARTA.
Varn is a past chairman of the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, an Aspen Institute Liberty Fellow, a College of Charleston Schottland Scholars mentor, a Leadership South Carolina alumni, a 40 under 40 award winner and serves on several business and community boards, including Tri-County Cradle to Career and Trident United Way.
Varn graduated from Ohio University and has her MBA from The Citadel. She is married to Scott Varn and has two children. She is an avid Ohio State football fan, a Parrothead and is addicted to spin classes.
